Wow, this is SO very true! It's also something that I've always thought about too: I mean, ostensibly, we're all supposed to be "adults" and so this non communication between two people should NOT be so difficult. Also, as human beings, is there not a sense of shared humanity with each other? Kindness, respect, empathy? When someone has ghosted me, I think: "That's all I need to know about them" because in that one simple manner and, as you so astutely say a "cowardly" act, I have ALL the information that I could ever need or want about this person. Does it hurt? Absolutely yes, it does but it's better to know than to not know and be kept wondering and on tenterhooks about it all, too.
