I am in total agreement: SO many wasted lives AND so many wasted opportunities that the government had and then squandered due to...negligence? Incompetence? Lack of decent human empathy?

All three, perhaps???

Regardless, it's reprehensible.

I'm really beginning to wonder if I missed the memo about how apparently, some "humans" seem to have a mechanism by which they are able to switch off their caring and compassion maybe?

How else to explain such egregious immoral acts?
