Those Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer
So, right now where I live, there is an Air Quality Alert which is deemed to be “Unhealthy for Sensitive People” — umm, I would posit that ANY Air Quality Alert is NOT a good thing for ANYONE. In my particular case, in recovery from a multi layered sinus surgery as well as being mildly asthmatic, it’s definitely not a good thing for sure and how ironic that I saved some of my pandemic masks because I’ll surely be needing them.
I can quite literally look out my window and see sunshine, yes, but looking up and above and beyond the initial horizon, there is a definite hazy effect.
I’ve been reading this morning about how this might last through the summer; which is quite the bummer, as the picture above illustrates, isn’t that “supposed” to be a typical summer idyll? But, it’s not, is it? And I think most of know why — because of climate change — this is becoming more and more evident with each passing day now, it seems. How do we apologize to all the lovely and wonderful animals who are being impacted by this? The trees? The forests? The lakes/rivers/oceans? To Mother Earth herself?
It’s very despairing…
We’re destroying the very things that give life great beauty and meaning…
We know what needs to be done, but we’re just not doing it…
The world burns and here we are.
