The Wonderful Iconic Glamour of Halston

And also my love of Orchids!

Something a bit more lighthearted today, methinks! After watching the “Halston” series on Netflix I was reminded of a few important things — namely, my aesthetic appreciation for all things beautiful, and also, this one line, spoken by Halston (in the form of the actor portraying him, Ewan McGregor) who says, when questioned by one of the “money people” the rather exorbitant cost of the unending visions of orchids which decorated both his office and his personal home, this wonderful bit of wisdom:

“You can’t put a price on inspiration.”

This is very true, I think! As a life long lover of orchids, I can attest to both their volatility AND their inherent vulnerability. They are fragile flowers and very much need to be tended to and cared for in a gentle loving manner.

The office that Halston inhabited in the Olympic Tower in NYC is simply stunning! Again, as is mentioned in the show, this office creates an environment which makes Halston feel that he is “floating amongst the clouds” and were I ever to return to an office again, this would be one that I could definitely see myself in. It would seem perfectly designed to inspire creativity and inspiration — two things that I can not ever live without.
