The Whitewater Rafting Guide (and me create a bit of history — for a while)

And yet, I never actually DID engage in White Water Rafting.

It wasn’t because I didn’t have the opportunity, because I most certainly did.

Rather, it just never ended up happening.

I think my post from yesterday had a strange effect on me in that: it simultaneously allowed me to close a door and yet, also to then “peer into it” as well and so I thought, “Well, hey, why not compose tributes to the various men I have dated and been in relationships with while being in this area before I completely “close up shop?” as they say. So, that’s what the next several posts will be, each one laden with five good things about each man because they deserve that, even if they don’t read it, the most important thing (for me, anyway) is to know that I have written it down and committed it to memory. There are always good parts to every person and people make mistakes (myself included, as I am alas, all too human) but these individuals made an impression on me, each in their own unique way and because of that, I want to record it here, on my blog, so I don’t forget, so they don’t forget, too.

It’s important for me to do so because I DO believe in karma and, I want to create and inspire only GOOD karma for myself from this point onward.

So, here we go, then…after yesterday’s post about a former beau, a lawyer, here is one about a wonderful man who also happens to be an excellent white water rafting guide who also quite physically resembles the man in the Dos Equis beer commercials so popular here in the states. He’s quite the “silver fox” and I was not immune to his considerable charms (why would I be?!).

We were (are) very different people. I remember the first time he saw my apartment which is very feminine and also very pink, he looked a bit uncomfortable and as he sat down, he laughed and said: “It’s very…subtle.”

I’m not sure it was love, per se, but there was a teenage type crush for us both.

Meaning: we literally could not be in the same place at the same time with each other without physically touching or kissing one another. Just for fun, we tried an experiment once: we sat in his Prius and “timed” ourselves: NO KISSING for five minutes — but each time we looked at one another, we just couldn’t seem to help ourselves — we were off and running, our day at the races and it was exhilarating. There…
