The “Monday After” Blues Re: Holidays

I had a truly wonderful Thanksgiving holiday weekend as my “soul sister” drove in from Delaware to spend that time with me. I’m incredibly blessed.

It always does seem to feel, though, that the days following holidays (and even vacations) can often feel a bit of a letdown though. There’s all the preparation beforehand, the anticipation and fun, and then, the often-dreaded return to reality afterwards. It always feels a bit disorienting.

“Time” is a precious commodity; all the more so when we are in midlife.

So, any “time” that is mutually and joyfully shared is a precious thing.

And I suppose that the return to reality in some ways makes us even more acutely aware and appreciative of that time, but still *sigh* wouldn’t it be wonderful if it could last just a wee bit longer sometimes also too?

With everything going in the world at large, the constant chaos of it all, it’s so very beautiful to find refuge in cherishing those all too rare moments of time spent with loved ones. We’re fast approaching the end of the year and there are still yet more holidays to enjoy and to share with others. It’s a sobering thought that, “where” we are this time, this year, might very well be very different next year. This is very much in the back of my mind as I continue to make preparations for…
