The 25th Anniversary of Princess Diana’s Death

Why It Matters…

I have so many favorite pictures of Princess Diana. The landmine one, of course. The “Revenge Dress” is another stellar favorite of mine, too:

And of course, this one of her dancing with John Travolta at the White House:

Every time I look at this image of her dancing with John Travolta, it makes me smile because the unmitigated sheer joy, fun and beauty they were experiencing with each other is so very obvious, it’s quite palpable, really.

It’s so very difficult to realize that it’s been 25 years since she perished.

I want to pay tribute to her today and to write about why her life MATTERS.

It’s no secret that women all over the world, such as myself, who had never met her in real life, but perhaps had read the biographies and watched the documentaries and movies felt a real connection with her. How was this possible? I’ve attempted to understand it and I think now, maybe I do.
