Thank you so very much for sharing your wife's experience with a now former friend. I am sorry that she endured that as I know all too well how truly horrible it is. I think that you're right: there are other issues at play with regards to this and I need to remember that and not internalize it so much and make it about me and/or any reflection on me.

It's also very difficult to do though - I mean, one can understand logically and rationally but in my heart - ouch, it HURTS. It's always a balance for me between my head and my heart, it seems, alas.

As for JD and NO: I totally agree - love the music but do not seek to emulate the other parts. Rather unbelievably, my very dear British friend was able to actually SEE Joy Division WITH Ian Curtis back in the day! How incredible is that?! Lucky Brits...

And yes, "Love Will Tear Us Apart" (again).
