“So Shines A Good Deed In A Weary World”…
I’ve always loved Gene Wilder and first fell in love with him as a young girl.
I told everyone that I was going to marry Willy Wonka and live in his Chocolate Factory with the “Oompah Loompah’s” and I believed this with all my heart…dear Gene Wilder — with your bright hair, vivid blue eyes and by everything that I have ever read and heard about you, your beautiful heart.
I thought of this particular scene earlier today because of this line:
“So shines a good deed in a weary world”…all because my wonderful friend John called me today on his lunch break because he was worried about me.
I guess after reading my post from yesterday — some days are better than other days…but the very real fact that he called, that he cared, that he expressed concern, means the absolute world and more to me. TRULY.
So — this post is for him…because we are so much alike in so many ways.
Because: he always calls me “Doll Face” which I absolutely love :)
And because: he is a genuinely good kind and tender-hearted man.
He asked me this: “Hey Kid, are you still staying on the sidewalks?”
