“So Many Parties, So Little Time”
So, I will be considered two weeks fully vaccinated this coming Saturday, the 24th — and while this is a good thing — a VERY good thing (Science is Wonderful!) it almost feels anti-climatic at this point since the ability to have a “party” is still somewhat rather limited with everything regarding the pandemic. I’m in touch with friends who are or will be fully vaccinated soon and we already have plans in place for a meet up but still — SIGH — I miss actually BEING at, much less HAVING an actual PARTY as in: with other PEOPLE all being together. It feels rather elusive at best, a distant memory.
I was thinking the other day about “when” the last time was that I attended a large gathering with a crowd of people inside and it was more than a year ago and in looking back on it, I could almost cry because of how completely unaware we all were, as in: not knowing, nor having any idea that the gathering would likely be THE last time that any of us would be inside of a venue of any crowd size for quite some time, at least indoors, anyway.
I was dating someone whose business partner and friend was being honored and there were many people — many drinks — many appetizers — standard fare and all of us were dressed up and engaging in small talk while slightly tipsy (or maybe…
