“She Lives on Love Street, Lingers Long on Love Street”
The Doors — Love Street — YouTube
I seem to be on a theme this week of love, so I’m going to stay with it.
As it’s a topic obviously swirling around my mind for many reasons.
And yes, I DO realize that there are much more important things happening in the world than a discourse on love from me, one person.
But this is my blog, a sacred space, where I can write about anything.
So, what made me think of this particular song? I think remembering back in the early days of being with my now ex-husband. There was an inherent sweetness and almost innocence about us back then. For example, as we lived together before we married, each morning, after he had left for work, and I awoke, there was always a note on the refrigerator for me — usually with a cute drawing (he’s an artist) — sometimes the notes were short: “I love you, Baby Girl” with the requisite “X’s” and “O’s” and other times, they were more lengthy, telling me all the many ways in which he detailed how wonderful he thought I was. I cherished these notes and came to expect them each day. It always felt like a blanket of love wrapping around me.
One of our favorite things to do was to dance to the song above, by The Doors, in our kitchen, late at night, after dark…
