“Re-Humanize Yourself” — PLEASE
I don’t know anyone right now, including myself, who isn’t suffering or trying to endure something painful right now — whether it be physical/mental/emotional pain and associated struggles, work pressures, home/life issues — and THEN there’s everything else in the world right now.
I know that there has always been suffering in the world — wars, famine, poverty, but honestly, does anyone else feel that ever since the 2016 election that the entire planet (or what still remains of our beloved home, because of climate change) has just somehow transformed into an almost sort of malevolent entity? Meaning just this: WHERE is the humanity?!!
As a society, we don’t seem to be very compassionate towards anyone or anything that is even slightly different than the prevailing norm. Why?
What’s so great about being part of the “norm” anyway? I’ve never found it to be all that interesting, but rather instead, often boring and bland, really.
So, why doesn’t our culture embrace this instead of fearing it? Banning books, taking away rights for women, transgender people, worshipping at the diseased altar of capitalism, consumerism, and of course, we certainly can’t forget: guns. “Shoot to kill” — a weapon of destruction is now something that an everyday citizen can purchase and sadly, all too often, use to bring death, destruction…
