Paris is burning: Protesters set city ablaze | CNN
So, this has been happening as of late. It’s scary but interesting to note that these protests are taking place over the pension retirement age being raised from 62 to 64. Of course, I fully support these protests, but it occurred to me that in America right now, we have SO many issues which are happening, seemingly all at once, and it’s absolutely exhausting at times trying to keep up with it all. But here’s the thing: if the French people can protest so vehemently about a two-year age increase in benefits, why are the citizens of this country not doing more, as in like: A LOT more to make their voices heard? It’s almost as if: America itself is traumatized and its citizens perhaps resemble abuse victims who are too afraid/drained of energy just trying to survive yet another day. Is it just me? That’s how it feels right now. I look at these images and think: “That should be US.”
And yet, it's not. I realize that people/groups/organizations are protesting but still, it often feels as if most of us are in a daze and trying to make sense of our own lives: how they are currently and how we want them to be later.
Earlier today, I unfortunately came across an article wherein “The Orange Buffoon” is now warning of potential death and destruction if he is indicted. WOW. Let…
