“Ooh, Here’s Where The Story Ends”

“It’s that little souvenir, of a terrible year, which makes my eyes feel sore”

This is an open letter to someone who follows my blog (although that may soon end). I wanted or rather needed to explain something to you.

When I blocked you (and a few others, by the way) on both my LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, it wasn’t meant to be punitive/hurtful/petty but rather it was my way of putting a stop gap measure against hurting ME, because every time your name popped up as “liking” a post or a tweet, it felt…disorienting.

And, I’m not really sure “why” this is; I’m still trying to work all that out.

This strange…connection/chemistry that we had, over the past year, kept coming back to haunt us in various ways. We were both dating other people, but still remained in touch, and also sometimes met up for “walks” which basically consisted of flirtation with one another and one memorable night of a six hour marathon make out session — it was wild, crazy and wonderful.

We couldn’t seem to fully “let go” of each other, and while we both inherently knew we wouldn’t be good together for the long term, I think we both also wanted to remain a part, however small, of each other’s lives in some way, too

However, upon learning of your engagement I realized that: “Now is the time for this to really fully completely END” — for both of us, for both our sakes.
