Scenes like the one that I just detailed above are playing out EVERYWHERE, I know this and yet…as I stood there, watching this happen in real time, I felt both frightened and sad because: is this REALLY what our society has come to? I fear that the answer is “Yes” and that it’s only going to get worse. Another ironic thing that I noticed (because I’m detail oriented that way) was a sign that had obviously been spray painted across the street from where this homeless man was sleeping while being stepped on, over and around and when I saw what was written on the sign, I just knew, or rather, “remembered” who the person is: a fictional character in the Ayn Rand novel “Atlas Shrugged” — John Galt, the protagonist of it:
