I have a dear friend who suffers from severe debilitating asthma and as such is on disability as a result. At one time she was married and together they had a child. At the time she was warned that she could possibly die if she continued the pregnancy but she didn’t want to abort and thankfully her (and her child) survived. However when she became pregnant a second time (her options for birth control are very limited due to her asthma and her husband refused to wear a condom) her doctor told her in NO uncertain terms that if she continued the second pregnancy she would most certainly die and she (very) reluctantly agreed to an in hospital surgically induced abortion. She was devastated. I was at the hospital with her. She has never fully dealt with this trauma and we rarely speak of it even now. My point is this: without the protection of Roe my friend would have died for no good reason. Just this very real fact is so inhumanely infuriating to me - even now to write. So yes - you’re absolutely spot on with your analysis here. It’s NOT about saving lives, far from it - but rather power control and domination to the extreme.
