I can totally relate to so much of this, even though I spent a few years as an adjunct. Like yourself, I began to feel very burnt out, and everything you described about academia is so spot on. I have completely divested myself of anything regarding higher education, career wise. I’m so glad to read that you chose yourself over a toxic work environment and various toxic people.
