Hi. I totally agree with your assessment. I will be moving to the UK by the end of this year for various reasons. One of which is to be enrolled in a graduate program. I think you are absolutely correct in that unless one has traveled outside the US, there is really no way to understand just how insane so much of the culture and society is structured.
