Andy Rourke RIP

So, this happened…

Andy Rourke, Bassist for the Smiths, Dies at 59 — The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Like so many devoted Smiths fans, their music saved my life.

Each of us, in our own ways, found something in their music that spoke to our wounded hearts, souls and minds. I was (am) one of those people.

As a dear friend said to me earlier, “It’s a punch in the gut” and yes, it is.

This will be brief but I just wanted to pay tribute in my own way, today.

The Smiths music and words saved my life, and Andy Rourke was a part of that. Rest in peace, dear one. You were part of something very special.
