“And in other news, the buffet ran out of steak” — Yes, you read that right
AKA: Dining at ‘Golden Corral’ can be dangerous to your health.
So, I’ve only had the surreal experience of “dining” at the ‘Golden Corral’ once, years ago and found it all slightly traumatizing. It felt as I was no longer human but rather just someone on an assembly line of never ending food, none of which looked that appetizing; I think perhaps this is more of an “American” thing — the “All You Can Eat” version of dining, which should perhaps have the caveat of “All You Can Eat in One Sitting Before Possibly Having a Heart Attack” — needless to say, it was definitely NOT my thing.
When I saw the headline early this morning, I thought: “Now, I know what I’m going to write about today” because I wasn’t really sure…and even now I don’t really have the words to write just how completely and utterly bizarre this is to me.
Even though I myself am not a consumer of steak, I understand that many people are; however, to incite a brawl, with chairs flying and people screaming somehow — I just can’t envision such a thing in Europe.
