Abortion Access Aka Human Rights Violation
To be a woman in America right now is a risky proposition, at best.
When I first read the article I am going to link here, my initial response upon first reading it, was one of incredulity — not because it wasn’t expected, but rather because it’s even happening at all, much less here, in the “Land of the Free” — so, what exactly is “free” about having a very basic thing, such as human rights, slowly and methodically stripped away from someone?
What feels particularly ominous is this last bit: “More restrictive laws are coming.” This is a clear portent that things are about to get a whole lot worse.
So many arguments with regards to abortion are absolutely mind bending. When does “life” begin? At the fetal heartbeat? Are there ever any exceptions to abortions being banned such as rape or incest? Is six weeks enough time for a woman to know that she is pregnant? These are, no doubt, all very important questions to be asked, but ultimately, at the end of the day, what I keep coming back to is an issue that seems to have somehow gotten lost in the chaos and confusion of all of this, which is, quite simply this: CHOICE.
